Why is a CPA audit important for not-for-profits?
We have a peer review performed every three years in accordance with the AICPA Peer Review Standards Board. The peer review consists of an independent CPA firm reviewing Grady’s quality control system for its auditing and accounting practice. Grady CPA, PC received a review rating of “Pass” in our latest peer review, which is the highest rating an accounting firm can receive. This achievement reflects our commitment to performing quality work. We will adhere to this tradition of being “Accountable.” Click here to see our Peer Review report.
FAQs: Nonprofit Services
Plenty. Charities, faith-based groups, private schools, foundations, community programs — even small neighborhood organizations that happen to be 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4). Each one comes with its own quirks and reporting headaches, so the work changes from client to client.
We do. That covers audits, reviews, and compilations. Some need them for grants, others for donor confidence, and a few just want proof the books hold up. Whatever the reason, the end goal is the same — make sure the numbers are clean and credible.
Yes. The IRS isn’t known for giving second chances. We handle annual Form 990s, state filings, and other compliance checks so you’re not scrambling later. Staying ahead of the rules is a lot easier than trying to fix things after the fact.
Absolutely. We sit down with boards, walk them through what the numbers actually mean, and explain what their responsibilities are in plain English. It’s less about throwing reports at them and more about making sure they can read and use those reports.
They can be. We adjust the scope so smaller groups aren’t paying for things they don’t need. The idea is to keep expert help within reach without draining the budget — because that money should be going toward the mission, not just the paperwork.
